Irakli Kobakhidze payed an official visit to the Republic of Armenia
On March 25, 2024, Georgia's Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, embarked on an official visit to the Republic of Armenia, welcomed by his counterpart, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The Georgian delegation comprised key figures, including the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili; and the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Giorgi Amilakhvari.
Within the framework of the visit, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinian. During the face-to-face meeting, the parties talked about the existing friendly and good-neighborly relations between Georgia and the Republic of Armenia. It was noted that the two countries are connected by active cooperation in many directions, including the fields of trade, transport, and tourism.
The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked Nikol Pashinyan for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and confirmed Georgia's support for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia.
Attention was paid to regional processes. Irakli Kobakhidze noted that Georgia strongly supports peaceful coexistence in the South Caucasus and is ready to play a positive role in ensuring peace and stability in the region in future.
The parties expressed hope that the strategic partnership of the two countries will contribute to the further deepening of cooperation in various fields and will bring tangible benefits to both countries.
After the face-to-face meeting, the negotiations continued in an extended format, in which members of the governments of the two countries participated. Irakli Kobakhidze invited Nikol Pashinian to Georgia.
In addition, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, met with the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan. During the meeting, fruitful cooperation between the two countries in various fields and long-term good neighborly relations were emphasized. It was noted that the agreement on strategic partnership took bilateral relations to a qualitatively higher level. The potential for further deepening of ties in various fields and the importance of its full utilization were emphasized. At the meeting, attention was paid to the ongoing processes in the region. The Prime Minister once again confirmed Georgia's strong support for peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
