Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, paid a working visit to Georgia
On January 26, 2024, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, paid a working visit to Georgia, accompanied by a distinguished delegation. Upon arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, Prime Minister Pashinyan was warmly welcomed by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, alongside the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia, George Sharvashidze.
The Prime Ministers of Georgia and the Republic of Armenia held a face-to-face meeting. Additionally, the 13th session of the Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commission between the two nations was convened, co-chaired by the respective Prime Ministers.
Throughout the session, discussions centered on enhancing economic cooperation and trade. The discussions also explored potential collaborations in transport, energy, tourism, culture, and education.
The importance of peace and stability in the region was stressed during the session. Irakli Garibashvili emphasized Georgia's ongoing commitment to facilitating the peace process and reaffirmed the country's readiness to continue playing a constructive role in this endeavor.
The session culminated with the signing of a Joint Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership between Georgia and the Republic of Armenia by the Prime Ministers. Furthermore, two Memorandums of Understanding in the fields of agriculture and healthcare, as well as an agreement aimed at improving the working conditions within the diplomatic missions and consular institutions of both countries, were signed by members of the Cabinet of Ministers from both nations.
